The manufacture and distribution of the HIV protease inhibitor Agenerase (amprenavir) was discontinued by GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) in October 2007.

Agenerase has been replaced by the HIV PI Lexiva (fosamprenavir), also manufactured by GSK. Fosamprenavir is a pro-drug of amprenavir, which is used for treatment of HIV infection in combination with low-dose ritonavir and other antiretroviral drugs.
